SMRA members range in all ages and abilities, from college students to retirees. While some of us like to compete and others prefer the recreational aspects of the sport, we all row for fun and camaraderie. SMRA is firmly committed to fostering a diverse membership as we bring the sport of rowing to the Southern Maryland community.

As a small organization, we depend on the volunteer efforts of the members. We all pitch in on boat maintenance, launch driving, coxing, and general administrative duties. Did we say fun, too? Members hold periodic socials and get-togethers.
